I can’t seem to stay away from classic home accessories. I love the idea of adding color to a room with small items such as pillows and throws that can be changed every so often. Today is the perfect day to look at beautiful patterns and great use of colors. The Finland based design house Marimekko has one of the best collections of home goods. They are super playful and filled with bright colors. These are some of my favorite patterns in the bedding and fabric line, but they make so many other things that you need to see their site to enjoy it all.

The best part of it all is that Vertigo Home in Laguna Beach, California has the newly released Marimekko wallpaper collection. Each one includes their usual great designs and versatile colors. Croquet Stools by Wis Design

Furniture design should always be fun and light hearted, unless you live in a palace. Everyone needs furniture and it’s something you live with for a long time, so most people go with pieces that are neutral and comfortable.

There is a wide range of more progressive furniture designers all over the world but they can be really expensive and to create a better space you need to buy more than one cool piece. This is the hardest part of all, finding a happy medium between comfort, design and price.

I visited the Wis Design website and found these colorful stools, I am a sucker for colors, maybe is the inner child in me. These are a series of stools inspired by Croquet. The design is simple and results are pleasing to the eye. Wis Design is the creation of Lisa Widén and Anna Irinarchos, two Industrial Designers from Sweden a poetic and playful approach . They work in a variety of mediums, furniture, product and interior design. This is a very talented team making Industrial Design what I always envisioned it being, fun product with no limitations.
